This highly animated male wolf is the perfect example of Dan Quam's work. Credited with starting the realism
style in Zuni, he's probably best known for his mountain lion carvings. Here you have a very fine, ferocious wolf
carved from Picasso marble. (It's mostly black .. but there are some gray patches that show it's Picasso and not
black marble.)
Fully etched, with fur patterns visible (the raised hairs of the neck), the wolf looks to be in attack mode. He
has turquoise inlaid eyes and an alert expression on his face. Sure to be a focal point of any collection. Signed.
