This beautiful serene wolf was carved by Delvin Leekya from serpentine. There are different types/colors of serpentine. Fish rock (aka
Chocolate serpentine) has a slightly sticky feel to it. Snakeskin serpentine has a mottled reptilean appearance. Metallic
serpentine has a denser weight and a slight metallic sheen to it. Augite serpentine is flecked with freckles of blue-black. Banded
serpentine is, well - banded and so on.
Delvin has chosen this dark green (almost black) chunk of serpentine to form this handsome wolf. It's hardly ferocious --- more
like those beautiful photos you see of wolves peeking behind snowy aspens with that deeply intelligient inquisitive expression.
The body of the wolf is thick, his furry tail flows behind him. The head is slighlyl raised, the ears perked. He has turquoise inlaid
eyes and a pretty bundle of pink shell and turquoise. Altogether a really fine wolf. Signed.
