Herb Halate's work is so quietly dramatic - so boldly elegant - and such a delight to hold. He uses jet (fossilzed coal) exclusively to carve his bears, mountain lions, frogs, badgers and eagles (yes -- we have some arriving soon!) And his work is always beautifully polished and his signature wrap (a slab or turquoise tied on with lots of sinew) as minimalistic and as gorgeous as the carving itself. Signed.
