This is one of two bear pendants by Darrin Boone we are showing
this time. This one is carved of pretty pink shell. It features a Mother of Pearl arrowhead on the right side of the bear and a large
inlaid (jet, turquoise, red coral, Mother of Pearl) Zuni sunface on the right side of the bear. The mouth of the bear is inlaid of
turquoise, the eyes in jet and the claws are inked in. It's perfect to wear on a silver chain or leather cord. The bear measures 1
3/16" long x 1 1/8" tall with the bail.
Darrin is married to Judith Homer and his carving cousins include Colleen and Emery Boone as well as Loren Boone. He is best
known for his inlaid bears and turtles, which come in a variety of sizes. Unsigned.
BEAR: The bear represents the western direction in a protective and healing fetish set. He is associated with the color blue and known for his curative powers. Though all bears are healers, white bears are particularly powerful. Characteristics associated with bears include strength, courage, adaptability, healing and spiritual communion.
