This exquisite fox was carved from Egyptian marble by Rosella Lunasee and Loubert Soseeah. Rosella is the sibling of Vernon,
Ronnie, Reynold (married to Georgette Quam) and Lucella (married to Terrence Tsethlikai). They are the grandchildren of Dixie
Quandelacy (d.), father of Eunice Quandelacy Lunasee, Albenita Yunie, Andres, Avery, Barlow (d.), Sandra, Dickie, Wilmer, Faye,
Georgia and Stewart Quandelacy. Whew! That's some talented family, eh?
The lines of Rosella & Loubert's work is similar to that of Vernon and Prudencia (Quam) Lunasee. But you can discern each
couple's work with only a little experience. We love their choice of carving material. Egyptian marble is quite distinctive and can
be very dramatic. The little fox has a flowing, etched tail, an elongated body and an alert face set with turquoise eyes. We
haven't seen much work from this couple in a while, so don't miss this opportunity to add a Lunasee/Soseeah piece to your
collection. Signed.
This is fetish (part of a consigned group) was originally sold by Ruth Reidy (such a nice lady!) of Penfield Gallery in Albuquerque,
NM in 2002.
FOX: The fox is quick and observant. He approaches life with amusement and cleverness and can make himself invisible when threatened. When in an uncomfortable situation, become fox-like. Blend in, make no quick moves and plan your escape! Fox fetishes will be similar to wolves but with elongated, fluffy tails. Often their facial features will be very delicate with pointed ears and nose.
