Darrin Boone has carved this bear from colorful abalone (glistening blues and rainbow azure on one side, pearly pink on the other). The claws and eyes are etched, the mouth inlaid of turquoise. The Zuni Sun face is inlaid of Mother of pearl, jet, turquoise and red coral. A shell arrowhead tied on with silver wire completes the bundle. Unsigned.

BEAR: The bear represents the western direction in a protective and healing fetish set. He is associated with the color blue and known for his curative powers. Though all bears are healers, white bears are particularly powerful. Characteristics associated with bears include strength, courage, adaptability, healing and spiritual communion.
