This chunky turquoise bear is, of course, carved by Emery Eriacho. We have long loved Emery bears for their color, quality and the fact that Emery keeps his prices so that they are within the reach of most collectors.

This directional bear has the traditional medicine bear posture (nose to the ground) and wears a tiny bundle of pink shell, heishe, turquoise and red coral. The eyes of the bear are inlaid of jet. Unsigned.

BEAR: The bear represents the western direction in a protective and healing fetish set. He is associated with the color blue and known for his curative powers. Though all bears are healers, white bears are particularly powerful. Characteristics associated with bears include strength, courage, adaptability, healing and spiritual communion.
