Phosphosiderite is named after its chemical composition, PHOSPHrous and SIDERos, Iron. It can be colorless, purple, pink, red, or violet. Some of this beautiful stone comes from Chile but it is also found in Australia, Tasmania, Portugal and locations in the US. While it is a natural mineral it is stabilized to make it durable and colorfast.
