Here we have another shell beauty by Stuart Quandelacy. We met Stuart early in our travels to Zuni and actually supplied him with some larger conch shells from which he created the most astounding large shell maidens we have ever seen. He went on to carve green snail shell and now seems to concentrate on using smaller conch-type shells for his delicate maiden carvings.

This nearly-white shell is graced by the present of a single sweet girl. She has inlay of amber, coral, lapis and turquoise down the front of her "corn" body. Her robe is further enhanced by settings of turquoise, coral, etched dragonflies and stars. Other traditional pottery motifs are also etched on her robe. She's quite fancy! Her facial features are etched and inked and Stuart (who sometimes signs and sometimes doesn't!) has left her unsigned.
