There is just something about a beautiful piece of Egyptian marble and when it is used to make a Zuni bear by the ever-popular Emery Eriacho it becomes practically irresistable, donchathink? I love the stark contrast of the dark background of the stone with the spontaneous bolts of crystalline and tan veinings that shoot through Egyptian marble. We used to see quite a lot of this stone when it first arrived in Zuni but apparently it is not as readily available to the carvers now.

And Emery's bears ... such a delightful little profile this medicine bear, with husky body and his nose to the ground. Emery has added color with turquoise inlaid eyes and an offering bundle of a tiny turquoise arrowhead tied on with small beads of heishe, turquoise and red coral. You're sure to love this nice, little traditional "bear package". Unsigned.
