This particular piece of turquoise is of the green variety tinged with an orange matrix and small seams of tenorite (black) reminiscent of the copper complex stones we have all seen in Zuni carvings of late.

This maiden is dressed for the cold and her feet and lower legs are traditially wrapped with moccasin leggings. Her necklace stone is red coral and her facial features are inked with jet. This cute little girl is unsigned which is typical for the carving family.
