Okay. If someone told me I had to chose a very most favorite carving from every box we receive
from Zuniland --- I'm not sure I could do it. If, however, they threatened me with a life-long ban
from Cheetos, I might crumble. That being the imagined scenario, this beautiful bear by Jeremy Lucero would be
my pick from this box. I love everything about it. I love the simple, stylized profile of the bear
which contrasts so beautifully with all the etched detail and absolutely-drop-dead-
gorgeous inlay.
Even though Dave's photos are the best on the web (JMHO!) even he could not fully do justice to
this beautiful bear. I can tell you that the etching is so precise, so perfect that it's hard to choose
between that feature and the exquisite inlay. One side has a gorgeous Zuni sun face. The other
side has two beautiful butterflies hovering around an etched cornstalk. The rounded back of the
bear has etched triangles set with tiny stones of turquoise and red coral. It's just one big (6 ozs.!),
amazing Zuni bear.
