It's been a long while since we had carvings by David. He and his cousin Ephran used to carve side by side and were quite prolific ten years ago. Ephran learned to carve from his (then) step-father Herbert Him. He then went on to teach other members of the Chavez family to carve (David, Vince, and uncle Leroy.)

David's mole is made from serpentine and is nicely polished and has a slight curve to the posture. Realistically sized, he has turquoise inlaid eyes (some carvers make eyes, some do not) and a "dotted" turquoise heartline on both sides of the mole. He is signed with initials on the bottom.
