S O L D

Justin Red Elk is the grandson of Leonard Halate (d.) His style is very similar to that of his uncle, Herbert Halate but he now utilizes stones other than jet for his minimalistic carvings. Justin's father was Sioux so he is half Zuni, half Sioux, something he now indicates in his signature.

This little otter is made of Picasso marble and the tiny cub on her belly is made of Rainbow Calsilica. Mama has etched whiskers and turquoise inlaid eyes. There are a couple of tiny cavities in the Picasso as evidenced by Dave's photos. They are natural and do not detract from the carving in any way. Signed.
