I usually leave stone identifications up to Dave 100 percent. He's the rock hound in the family. But he's calling this Magnasite hematite .. and if I were to disagree .. I'd call it travertine. So you decide. Though we can't identify the stone .. we CAN tell you without a doubt that this pretty inlaid wolf was created by Jayne Quam.


Her inlaid pieces with swirls and half moons began appearing a few years ago and, like you, we appreciate the traditional animals with the contemporary twist of Jayne's own style of inlay. The "lines" of color on this wolf are azurite and turquoise. The wolf's eyes are inlaid of turquoise and he's has a heavier body than those of her "couple" wolves. Signed.
