Not long after Dave and I were granted passage on this Zuni Fetish Journey, there was an equine population explosion in Zuni. It seemed EVERYONE was carving them. Hayes started carving large
ones in Zuni rock and others were using jet, pipestone, turquoise. We did a whole, huge, posting of nothing but horses once. But the flood of ponies didn't last and now we only see them regularly
from Carol Martinez, Emery Boone and Hayes Leekya. The day we met Francis Leekya (d.) sitting in the sun on his porch, he showed us boxes of white marble horses and the old style kind he made
for years that included a tiny leather saddle. So Hayes comes by it naturally. You might say horses are in his blood.
This tiny turquoise foal is a real charmer. He's only about 1.5" long but made of turquoise with turquoise hooves. His tail, mane and forelock are etched and he has pen shell inlaid eyes. Very sweet.
Unsigned, likely due to the small stature of the horse. Don't delay .. he's likely to go quickly!
