It's been quite a while since we offered a six directional set. And I don't think we've ever had one from Peter Gasper, Jr. He is the son of Dinah & Pete, Sr., sibling of Deborah, cousin of Leland and Evalena. All of the Weahkee descendants carve in a similar style but each has a distinctive twist that makes their carvings their own.

Peter has carved the (Zenith) Eagle from zebrastone as the eagle should be multi-colored. The eagle's younger brother, the mountain lion is carved from Picasso marble and guards the northern direction. The younger brother of the mountain lion would be the (turquoise) bear. He guards well the western direction where the sun sleeps at night. And the red (pipestone) badger, the younger brother of the bear, rests in his southern den, surveying all that lies before. To the east, the white wolf (alabaster) guards the rising sun. Lastly, the petite little mole made from black marble takes care of the nadir or underworld. It's a beautiful set with the largest animal (the mountain lion) measuring only 1 7/8" long. The smallest animal (the bear) measures 1 3/8" long. None of the carvings are signed. All have offering bundles of turquoise/abalalone or white shell tied with turquoise and red coral except for the eagle which wears only the beads of turquoise and red coral. Nicely done, very traditional and an excellent addition to your collection!
