We have recently posted several Barlow fetishes that were purchased from a trader who is shrinking his vast store of fetishes purchased in the 80s, 90s and 2000s. He had them stored in boxes for all this time and decided now was the time to liquidate his acquisitions to his large list of traders and collectors. This is our last of Barlow's pieces we will sell, it is the largest we have seen and it was created in 1983. One can see the origin of Andres' furry bear with fish fetishes design, one he learned from his big brother Barlow.


At 2 ounces it is a large piece of jet which is fossilized coal that has been used in jewelry for centuries the world over, and is by nature very light in weight for a stone. The eyes are inlaid of a green turquoise, the nostrils are inlaid of red coral and redrilled (never have seen that before), the fish is fossilized ivory and its eyes are inlaid of red coral. The fetish is unsigned but that is common for most fetishes produced before Y2K. Be sure NOT to miss out on this very large Barlow Quandelacy fetish as they are extremely hard to find these days!
