On February 22, 2009 the fetish collecting community lost Anderson Weahkee (d.). Son of Edna Leki (d.), brother to Dinah Gasper and Lena Boone, his carvings followed the "old style" family tradition of his grandfather Teddy Weahkee (d.).


This is a massive piece of turquoise is most probably American in origin that weighs in at a massive 7.6 ounces and even fills my large hands. The eyes and nostrils are inlaid of red coral. Carved in 1992 it was the practice at the time for the carver and the family to leave fetishes unsigned, however this piece is initialed AW on the bottom of the fetish which is most unusual!! Truly it will be the huge centerpiece of any Zuni fetish collection!
