James has been carving maidens, sunface corn maidens and tablita maidens for some time now and this is the largest one we have seen. Created from a reddish alabaster this tablita maiden is over 6 inches tall and has a lightning shaped body. She is standing in an olla with an etched triangular design motif.

The eyes are inlaid of jet and the front double lightning patterns are inlaid of jet and Mother-of-pearl. The rear lightning bolt is inlaid of turquoise, the stars and planets are inlaid of red coral. The tablita has Puebloan triangular designs on the front and a butterfly on the back. The olla is filled with red coral and turquoise bits and the necklace is made of turquoise and red coral beads strung around her neck. The olla is signed JAMES CHEAMA ZUNI on the bottom. This sculpture will be the centerpiece to any Zuni fetish collection including yours!
