Orthoceras or straight horn is a genus of extinct nautiloid cephalopod. Orthoceras fossils are common and have a global distribution, occurring in any marine rock, especially in limestones, dolomites and marbles. These fossils are known mostly from Ordovician rocks but do occur later as well, at least into the Devonian, from 240 Millions to 500 Millions Years Old . Well-known examples occur in the Atlas Mountains, Morocco, Scandinavia, the Alps, and Iowa.


Reynold has centered the fossil in the fetish like the pattern on the back of a badger. The eyes are inlaid of Sleeping Beauty turquoise and the fetish is signed Reynold Lunasee on the bottom. There is also a hole in the tail to hang the badger from a cord!
