Albert is among those lucky few carvers that benefitted from the tutelage of Zuni master fetish carver Gibbs Othole. His modern sleek lines, poetry of motion and elegant bundling are evident in this large walking lion carving. Albert adds an ornate offering bundle to the smooth body detailing. Albert's animal carvings are routinely among the most animated that we've seen. His postures are realistic and fluid, and the features of his animals cleanly carved and minimalistic. He remains one of our favorite carvers. When we met him, he was primarily carving in cameo shell and was still primarily a potter.


The raised and rounded eyes are inlaid of Sleeping Beauty turquoise and the offering bundle consists of a black marble arrowhead, a turquoise nugget and heishe beads. The large feline fetish is initialed AE ZUNI on the bottom of the paws. This will be a great centerpiece for your mountain lion den!
