Many years ago I found a lovely Delena fetish necklace at a trading post in Terlingua, Texas. It was 1,400.00 and that was 30 years ago. It has haunted me all these years because it was one of the most beautiful things I'd ever seen. There were a jillion (yes, a jillion, I counted them!) little birds carved of turquoise and jet and shell and various stones. They were strung on red coral heishe as fine as I have ever seen. I've never forgotten that necklace ..

So we are particularly proud to offer this beautiful piece of Zuni history for you perusal and consideration. It is a one strand necklace of mostly Gold-lipped Mother of pearl birds, but there are some in amber, one in alabaster and one in what is likely serpentine. The twelve birds along the side are of varying sizes. All have jet inlaid eyes. The center pendant is of some special interest because it is likely carved by George CheeChee Haloo, Lita Delena's father. This necklace was purchased in Zuni in the seventies and has been held privately since that time.

Strung on fine Santo Domingo Pen shell heishe, the necklace has a 15" drop and a sterling silver hook and eye closure. Do not miss this opportunity to add a real treasure to your collection. Whether you wear it, or showcase it among your Zuni fetish collection, it is sure to be a focal point and will bring much joy. I promise!
