This turquoise fish carving was made by Christine Banteah who is the widow of Terry Banteah. Terry was known for his fish carvings(as well as other animals), and after his death Christine began to add fish to her carving repertoire. She began carving in 1991 and was taught to carve by Terry. She is perhaps the best known for her owl carvings.

The fish is carved from a beautiful turquoise stone with lots of color, and the fish is well carved with details on the fins and a "checkered" body. The eyes are inlaid of jet and the fish rests perfectly on the pectoral and anal fins. Signed on the bottom CB.
