We did not have the opportunity to meet Edna Leki (1924 - 2004), though we bought from Lena a number of times. Edna was the daughter of Teddy Weahkee and his descendants still carry on his tradition of carving Zuni fetishes in a simple, minimal style.

This fox carving was likely made in the 1990's by Edna of raspberry serpentine. It is carved in her usual fashion and she has gifted it with a Mother of pearl arrowhead (almost as long as the body), tied on with sinew and turquoise and red coral beads. The eyes are inlaid of turquoise. Edna did not sign her work but her style is distinguishable. This carving is from our personal collection and has been held since 1999. We purchased it in Gallup.
