This stunning turquoise bear is from our personal collection. Dave bought it very early on in our collecting journey from an online dealer. This was prior to our visiting Zuni and meeting him. Herbert is best know for his bear carvings though he carves a variety of other things and has made some very complex and large carvings that passed thru Zuni Spirits decades ago.

I have to say that this particular bear is one of my favorites. He is just so perfectly carved, ferocious looking and realistic. His fur is precisely etches, his posture is very powerful. He is definitely King of the Mountain. Herbert has inlaid his eyes of red coral which are beautiful against the turquoise stone.

He is signed "Herb Him" and Zuni on the bottom of the feet.

He will be your favorite, too. Promise.
