Dave and Darlene met when both were river guides for an outfitter out of Houston. Big Bend and the canyons of the Rio Grande (Colorado, Boquillas, Santa Elena, Lower Canyons, Mariscal) were explored via either raft or canoe, as well as several expeditions on the Pecos. It was their interest in the rock art along the Pecos that prompted their adventures west, into New Mexico, Utah and Colorado. From there, it wasn't long until their interest in collecting Zuni fetishes was born. In 1997, they visited Zuni Pueblo for the first time and the rest is history.

Some of Dave's original cast jewelry
Dave started began to incorporate rock art imagery and puebloan motifs in his silver cast jewelry designs. We took trips west to visit the ruins at Chaco Canyon, Hovenweep, Aztec and other ruins which only added fuel to the creative fire. Later trips to Taos, Acoma,Laguna, Jemez, and San Felipe only increased their interest.

Now, things are winding down. Dave still pursues photography, but has given up making jewelry. Darlene has been working the past few years on developing her artistic talents. Recently, they gave up "life on the farm" and moved closer to family and medical facilities. It's been an adjustment, but we're happy in our new home in a tiny house community on Lake Conroe, north of Houston. The spontaneous demise of the website in 2021 forced Darlene to put on her web designer hat again and this new website is the result. Hopefully, it will be the last renovation .. and we're looking forward to sharing all the treasures we've accumulated from our friends in Zuni.

We appreciate your interest and hope you will visit often. We're planning regular site updates until everything we have is listed. Our collection of books, pottery and some jewelry will also be made available. We have loved our collecting experience, but now it's time to pass our treasures on.
