It's odd, we bought so many fetishes over the years for our collection and for the website. And many of those memories escape me now. I've forgotten things I never dreamed I would forget. And strangely, I distinctly remember this carving, the when and the where.

We were shopping at Pueblo Trading Post. Rena Othole (Gibbs' sister) was the manager and always so nice and welcoming. We always enjoyed visiting with her. But on this day, we walked in and I immediately saw a distant case filled, literally FILLED, with jet carvings by Lynn Quam. And I made a bee line to it. I was always drawn to the softness and the subtle shapes he created (he and Herb Halate!). I don't know how many pieces we bought, but this bear was destined to be MINE. I've held and admired him often, ever since.

So, it's with some sadness that I release him to one of you now. His stunning color, exquisite double heartline and and eyes are now yours to enjoy, admire and revel in. I hope he brings you as much joy as he's brought me.
