The Texas Indian Market - Arlington, 2006

The Texan Indian Market is held annually in Arlington (near Dalls), Texas. While the show is marketed as the "INDIAN" market .. there are lots of anglo artisans represented. However .. it is a great show with lots of amazing artwork, jewelry, fetishes, clothing, home furnishing -- all with a Southwest/Native American Theme.

Additionally, there is EXCELLENT entertainment. Brule usually appears and dancer Lowery Begay puts on an amazing, AMAZING show. The Ehectl Aztec Warrior Dancers perform “warrior style” dances of the Mexika-Chichimeka tradition. These dances range from ancient dances with roots that date back thousands of years, to modern dances that are part of a living tradition. Actor Steve Reevis (Chato in the movie GERONIMO) has appeared the last couple of years. Recording artist Holly Dunn exhibits her artwork along with a variety of other talented artisans (including Manuel Weahkee!)
