S O L D
Aside from her single inlaid wolves and double foxes this directional mole is a signature piece from Zuni fetish
carver Jayne Quam. She creates a big mole from jet and fastens the rest of the directional animals from their correct colored
stone, adds an offering bundle to each animal, ties them all on the mole with sinew and adds a final offering to the top of it all.
This is a labor intensive process and as a result there are fewer of these produced in a year than of her other fetishes.
The eyeless mole is accompanied by an amber mountain lion, a white marble wolf, a pipestone badger, a turquoise
bear and topped with an augite serpentine eagle. All of the smaller fetishes have pink shell arrowhead offerings and the whole
thing is topped with a single turquoise bead and a white cowrie shell tied with sinew. The eagle has rounded eyes inlaid of
Sleeping Beauty turquoise and the others have eyes inlaid of jet. The fetish is signed Jayne Quam on the bottom.
