Edna is the daughter of Teddy Weahkee (d.) and the mother of Dinah Gasper, Lena Boone and Anderson Weahkee (d.). Her style follows that of her dad and the whole family creates in the old style. Edna was born Oct. 5, 1924 in Zuni Pueblo into the Corn Clan. Leki attended Santa Fe Indian School. She was an artist and received numerous awards and accolades from the Gallup Indian Ceremonial, New Mexico State Fair, and Indian Arts and Crafts Shows. She retired from the C.G. Wallace Trading Post.

Edna was famous for her fetishes and fetish pots which were adorned with both stone and-or less often antler animals. This antler snake was on a fetish pot that most probably was cracked or broke, as apparently the sinew holding the feather offering bundle was cut as shown on the last photo. As a result the fetish will not sit upright. The rattles on the tail are evidence of the snakey nature of this fetish.

The eyes are inlaid of sleeping Beauty turquoise and the offering bundle consists of and parrot feathers tied with sinew. As is more often than not unsigned by the artist and generally the family as well. Make sure you do not miss out on a large, early and rare Edna antler rattlesnake fetish.
